JOURNAL

7/9/08 LAWRENCE CO FAIR - 5 TRACTORS. FEISS WAS FIRST HOOK AND WENT 286'. RANDY WAS 2ND HOOK WITH THE JUDGE BUT HAD TO DROP AFTER WE HAD A GROUND CABLE BURN UP ON US. SO WE HURRIED AROUND TO THE TRAILOR AND FIXED IT AND GOT BACK TO THE STARTING LINE BECAUSE I WAS ORIGINALLY LAST WITH THE JURY. THE RIGHT MOTOR DIED COUPLE FEET OUT AND I WENT 160'. SIGH.....I DON'T KNOW. RANDY WAS NEXT AND AFTER I GOT HIM HOOKED UP TO THE SLED AND STARTED I GOT OUT OF THE WAY TO WATCH. STARTED LEFT SIDE AND MADE IT UP TO MIDDLE OR SO BEFORE THE TRACK PULLED HIM BACK TO THE LEFT SIDELINE. FRONT END CARRIED GREAT BUT HAD TO BE CAREFUL OF THAT WHITE LINE. RANDY AND THE JUDGE WENT 281'. FEISS-1ST, THE JUDGE-2ND, DEANE-3RD, DECHANT-4TH, AND THE JURY-5TH.

LOGAN CO FAIR - 8 TRACTORS. THE RAIN DID NOT STOP US THAT NIGHT. THE TRACK WAS A LITTLE HARDER TO READ THAN I EXPECTED. AFTER WORKING ON THE JURY FOR MOST OF THAT MORNING, IT RAN BETTER, BUT NOT GOOD. OUT OF THE GATE IT PICKED UP STEAM AND THE FRONT END TO EVERYONE'S SURPRISE. THAT WAS AS GOOD AS IT GOT. DOWN CAME THE FRONT END AND MY HOPES OF MAKING A COMPETITIVE RUN. THE JURY STOPPED AT 217'. FARTHER THAN THE NIGHT BEFORE BUT NOT SUCCESSFUL. DAN DECHANT MADE A GREAT RUN, FRONT END UP THE WHOLE RUN AND TAKE THE LEAD WITH 257'. THAT WOULD STAND UNTIL FEISS WENT 274'. THE JUDGE WITH RON II DRIVING WENT 254' MAKING A RIGHT THEN LEFT TURN IN BETWEEN. WE WERE OFF ON THE WEIGHT. DEANE TOOK THE CAKE WITH 280'.

7/5/08 This week we will be heading to Proctorville on Monday, Bellefontaine on Tuesday, London on Friday, and Bucyrus on Sunday. Looks to be a good week of pullling, as long as the weather gives us a chance.

6/27/08 TRIED TO GO PULLIN' BUT NO LUCK. DROVE OUT TO CHARLESTON, IL AND ONLY HIT ONE SMALL SPOT WHERE IT SPRINKLED ON US. IT WAS A DIFFERENT STORY WHEN WE CAME TO THE CITY LIMITS. IT RAINED, IT POURED, THEN IT STOPPED AFTER ABOUT 2 HRS. THE PULL WAS CALLED AND WE HEADED HOME. THANKS TO JASON CHASE AND THE OTHER PROMOTERS FOR SHOWING THEIR APPRECIATION TO THE PULLERS WHO CAME OUT. LITTLE THINGS LIKE THAT GO ALONG WAY.

6/23/08 The Ohio State Championship Pull was a success! The rain came at 4:30 PM and was gone in under one hour. The clouds broke over us and the show would go on. Starting only 30 minutes after our scheduled start time, we had minor changes to make to the sled for the SCS GEARBOX 4WD Trucks to get it under way and Cory Atley won the class with a pull of 283' with his Ohio Cat. Next was the COLUMBUS DIESEL SS Tractors and Jeff Hirt laid down a great run with his Runnin' Bare All American, making a Full Pull! Pulling third was the CROW'S SEEDS Modified class. Don Deane took the cake with his picture perfect run of 322'. Brad drove The Judge into 2nd at 303', had a great run at hometown pull. The Jury still acted ugly. Randy drove it and dropped first run and came back. Pretty much had the same result. ( The Jury just wants more attention... ) Finally, the CARROLL'S TRUCK PARTS PRO-STOCK SEMI class came up. Joe Metzger and his Brockasaurus went 325', taking out the cone and almost the finish flagmen, Gibson. It was a great run and the crowd loved it too. The Renagade made it first trip down the track. It went ok under the circumstances. Need to fine tune a little, maybe run a different gear. It is all being worked at the Barga shop. The pull was a great success, a large amount was raised for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Thank you to all who donated, especially the 50/50 winner who gave all the money back to JDRF. Thank you to all the fans who came out to support the pull and pullers. Thanks to all the pullers who came, I hope to see all of you there next year!

6/20/08 SOLD THE MOTOR THAT RENAGADE WAS RUNNING WITH. BEEN WORKING ON GETTING THE NEW MOTOR READY FOR THE OHIO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PULL. HAD THE MOTOR RUNNING ON MONDAY EVENING AND HAD IT RUNNING IN THE TRUCK ON THURSDAY AT MIDNIGHT. DAD, JEFF, AND RANDY PUT IN ALOT OF HOURS TO GET RENAGADE TOGETHER. THE JUDGE AND THE JURY HAD A FEW CHANGES THAT WERE NEEDED, MOSTLY THE JURY.

6/13/08 The Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association (OSTPA) and Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League (PPL) are proud to sanction the 1st Ohio State Championship Pull at the Darke County Steam Threshers' grounds. This is a benefit pull, all profits of the pull will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF of Greater Dayton is proud to be associated with the Ohio State Championship Pull and hopes it will be a great success.
